San Agustín Mixtepec is a community located in southern Oaxaca, Mexico, within the municipality of San Cristóbal Amatlán, in the mountainous region known as the Sierra Sur. It is a rural community with 427 inhabitants who identify as Zapotec. The land of San Agustín Mixtepec is communally owned, and its forest features pine and oak trees.

The birthplace of traditional mountain bread, this community is known for its panela breads shaped like squares, bulls, or flowers, which change according to the season and festivities. From here, one can see the imposing Cerro Nube Flan, the highest mountain in the state of Oaxaca.
