Santa Lucía Miahuatlán is a community located in southern Oaxaca, Mexico, in the mountain range known as the Sierra Sur. It is a rural community of 3,377 inhabitants, who identify as Zapotec. Its territory is communally owned by Santa Lucía Miahuatlán; for the past 20 years, they have managed their forests collectively, producing pine and oak timber through a forest management plan.

It is a Zapotec community where the ancestral language remains alive in daily life. The art of embroidery and drawn thread work is preserved here, and the forest is managed sustainably for charcoal production.
